Helsinki Day: Kenkävaahto choir concert
The City Museum will be celebrating Helsinki Day by hosting a Helsinki-themed choir concert. Weather permitting, the concert will be held will in the Falkman courtyard, and in case of rain, in the museum lobby. Free entry!
Choir Kenkävaahto from Kruununhaka promises to take listeners on a journey across the neighbourhoods, bridges and parks of our home city – from the shores of Kaivopuisto all the way to Malmi Cemetery. The highlights of the concert’s Helsinki-themed songs include Tuomari Nurmio’s Sunnuntaina, Maija Vilkkumaa’s Puisto puhuu and M. A. Numminen’s classic children’s song Raitiovaunu.
Established by the employees of Daycare Centre Vironniemi, choir Kenkävaahto is led by Johanna Paalanen.
Before the choir concert, there will be a Helsinki tietäjä (Helsinki expert) quiz held in the City Museum’s lobby starting at 15:00.
