Museum Birthday Party: Disco Fever!
Get ready to get down! As the program in the museum quiets down, the doors of the Valkoinen Sali are opened, and inside we find – Disco Fever! From 7 P.M until 11 P.M, the legendary DJ Mr. A will spin his disco records, not forgetting the latest hits from this era. The theme of the night is 1970s-80s disco, and so the groove will be on. If for some reason the groove fails to be on, do not worry: dance teacher extraordinaire Kimmo L is there to show you the moves!
One cannot be truly disco without some glitz and glamour, and we have that covered as well: the super-popular makeup & mayhem team of Glitternisti paints willing guests with their amazing designs.
If the fever runs too hot, guests can cool off in the museum, and watch some Eurovision Song Contest on the side. The museum is open until 1 A.M.
The Helsinki City Museum on the corner of the Senate Square opened in May 2016. In less than a year, the museum has attracted over 400 thousand visitors, making it one of the top three museums in Finland. The new museum and its visual identity have garnered both national and international acclaim, the latest being a nomination in the prestigious Museums+Heritage Awards.
