Afternoon Date: Christmas memories and modern calligraphy
Are you a pensioner, a student, a shift-worker or do you just happen to have your afternoons free? Afternoon dates offer you the chance to enjoy, relax and talk with others in the City Museum’s inspiring environment while taking part in various workshops, remembrances and briefings. The dates have a theme that changes on a monthly basis, and each date is different. Anyone with some free time on their hands in the afternoon is welcome to join. The afternoon dates are free. We look forward to seeing you there!
Every first Wednesday of the month (starting from 2 October), the afternoon dates will be held at Helsinki City Museum (Aleksanterinkatu 16). The free-of-charge afternoon dates are for everyone interested in the history of Helsinki and working with their hands. No advance registration required. The meetings have space for about 15 people. The meetings will start with a short introduction to the theme of the day and then we will delve deeper into the subject by working with our hands using various techniques.
Wed 4.12. Christmas memories and modern calligraphy
The introduction consists of sharing Christmas memories in the grandma’s home at the museum.
We will write in cursive using ink and try out lettering using modern methods of calligraphy. We use lettering techniques to decorate gift tags and Christmas cards.
Free entry.
