Helsinki City Museum a Finalist for European Museum of the Year
Announced December 5th, the Helsinki City Museum is one of the finalists for European Museum of the Year 2017 (EMYA), awarded by the esteemed European Museum Forum.
The competition for EMYA is fierce, and the finalists for 2017 are of higher quality than ever. The award will be presented at Warsaw, at POLIN – Museum of the History of Polish Jews, which was awarded with the European Museum of the Year Award in 2016. So far, no Finnish museum has won the title, but this year there are two other finalists from Finland – the Tampere favourites Vapriikki Museum Centre and The Lenin Museum.
To be nominated is a great honour, and to win would continue a great year for the Helsinki City Museum. We have been humbled to have received the National Quality Innovation Award (on November 30), the Finnish Museum of the Year Award and the International Award from Museums + Heritage. Let’s make 2018 even better, together!
