Children’s Design Week
Children’s Design Week takes over Helsinki City Museum, where children can find interesting things to do all week. Visitors have the opportunity to experience design and architecture through various workshops. Read more about the programme organised by Helsinki City Museum
In honour of Children’s Design Week, Helsinki City Museum is organising
a Children’s weekend from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on 8–9 September
The programme for both days is as follows:
- Dress up in fashions from the olden days
You can dress up in fashions from the olden days on the beach at the Helsinki Bites exhibition and have a Polaroid picture taken of yourself. - Design your own exhibition
You can design your own exhibition along with the exhibition items in a guided workshop from 12 noon to 3 p.m. - Draw someone important
You can draw important people in your life at this independent workshop held 11 a.m.–5 p.m. The portraits will be hung on the wall of the Important People’s Portrait Gallery.
In addition, balloon magician Taika will be twisting balloons to children’s wishes every hour at 12 noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Visitors will also be treated to various children’s music gems from different eras. You can talk to discussion guides in Children’s Town.
