September Closing club of the Being Black exhibition (in Vuotalo)
The Being Black exhibition at the City Museum and the parallel exhibition at Vuotalo will culminate in a closing club at Vuotalo on Saturday, 23 September. Ismaila Sané’s band Saïsba will play at the club.
The Senegalese-born, multi-talented Ismaila Sané is a percussionist, singer, African ballet solo dancer, choreographer and pedagogue. Sané lived in Spain from 1981 to 1999, where he played with the Global Percussion, Baba Djembe and Mbalax bands. Since then, his place of residence has been in Finland. Here, in addition to his solo career, he has also been seen with the Senfi, Galaxy and Piirpauke groups.
Ismaila Sané’s new multicultural and multinational band is called Saïsba. This energetic group plays music with a vibrant sound that combines elements from every continent in the world.
Club night; Café & Bar Pokkari, a fully licensed establishment, is responsible for service. Doors will open at 5.30 p.m.
Duration about 2 hours, including an interval. Tickets: €20/15 at Lippu.fi and at the door starting at 4.30 p.m.
