Queer Helsinki guided tour in Finnish
Explore the Helsinki Bites exhibition at the Helsinki City Museum from a queer history perspective!
Discover what went on in Mäntymäki on spring evenings in the 1960s and learn about the city’s most popular meeting spot for sexual minorities. Join a guided tour exploring the streets, homes, bars, parks, and bushes of yesterday’s Helsinki from a queer perspective. The tour will make you see familiar locations in a new light and challenge ossified views.
The tour is in Finnish, free entry. The tour guide is Annina Wallner.
The event is part of the Queer History Month programme in November. The goal of Queer History Month is to examine Finnish history and culture from the LGBTQIA+ perspectives and record them as part of our common cultural heritage. For more information on Queer History Month and other events included in the programme, please visit the website of the Friends of Queer History association.
